Tangerine Dream, the West Berlin based group that’s often credited with the genesis of electronic music back in 1967, played The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco to an adoring crowd. They were founded by Edgar Froese, but since his death in 2015, they’ve carried the dream torch with members Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane and Paul Frick. With spectacular visuals and a pretty simple stage set-up, they create elaborately textured songs using much of the same technology that they did since their inception.
