Glen Matlock at Great American Music Hall with Clem Burke, Gilby Clarke and Steve Fishman as the Maestros. Glen is always engaging with the crowd and this night was no different. GAMH allows for an up close and personal show. He took full advantage of that.
Opening band was Gilby’s daughter Frankie and the Studs and she’s got talent beyond her years. I expect that comes from who, what, where and when she’s spent her years. I can’t imagine a short career for her.
It was a fun night with musical greats. Frankie was a perfect opener. But she had a perfect teacher! I always wish there was more light on the drummer at GAMH but I have no say! Seeing Clem at work is always something to be seen as well as heard. He said he’d be at Cruel World with Blondie this year. If it isn’t scalding hot in Pasadena, Cruel World is a must see!
Glen Matlock at Great American Music Hall or anyone else at GAMH is a reason to see this venue. It’s a classic and staff rock too!
