You’re going to have to trust me on this one. In each of my articles I want to start off with my best foot forward: my most eye catching, clearest photos. But in this case, I want you to look closely at the photo above and the ones below this. Yes, I know.

As a concert photographer, I see it that I try to translate the chaos of a live performance into still pictures. Something that correctly portrays the energy and vibe of the performer, the crowd and the venue itself. I can say with complete certainty that while the photos above this look worse than the more clear ones below this, THIS was the exact vibe of every second of The Armed at Rickshaw Stop. A cacophony of lights and fog made the stage look like a haunted house as each member of the band ended up jumping out of the haze to start crowd surfing, along with the random fans who also joined in. I was never 100% certain how many people were actually on stage and from the people I asked around me, not many others were certain as well. For nearly all 50 or so minutes the crowd never let up, a wave of fans moving back and forth across the floors of the Rickshaw. Me and a friend of mine have been to hundreds of concerts between us and have never seen anything quite like it. Sign me up for the next show.

Prostitute started the night off extremely strong. It’s very safe to say that in short order they’ll be selling out venues like the Rickshaw. You might’ve even thought they were the headliner by the way the crowd was reacting towards them, and the person standing next to me even said they were there specifically for them. Check them out.

Bonus! Fun fact: I took over 200 photos of just The Armed during this shoot, and most of those photos looked like this! Hurray!
