I’m usually reluctant to write negatively about a show but there was simply something Off about the Sorry concert at the Rickshaw Stop.
It’s been three years since I saw them at this very same venue and their new album, COSPLAY, released a few months ago. That album is excellent and their setlist consisted of nearly all of the songs off of it along with ones from their previous. The issue is that no matter what they played, everything sounded muffled, almost mumbled, especially from the vocalist Asha Lorenz. As you can see from the image she was asking for her own vocals to be raised and as I moved about the venue I never thought that it was ever loud enough as it felt like she was fighting against the volume. I’m aware that a live performance is supposed to sound different from the recorded version but this issue made each song sound like a watered down version of itself.
I didn’t have an awful time but I did remember as I was leaving I over heard two other fans also complain about the sound issue, so I’m certain it wasn’t just a me thing. As I said before, I’ve seen them here before and from what I can remember, it was an excellent show so maybe it was just a down night for either the venue, band or both in some capacity.

Local group 55CASTLES opened with amazing gothic vibes that I was not expecting but were extremely welcome.
