Frost Children is gremlin music, music for getting up to mischief to, music to get you in the mood to do naughty things. A good reason they’ve been an amazing opening or middle act (I even saw them open up at The Independent) is they raise the feeling of mischievousness in the audience which works well to hype them up for whatever act is following them. They leap around the stage like leprechauns, hair wrapped around the mic cord that’s whipped around, sometimes crouched on the table in front of the equipment like they’re DJ Sméagol. They even got a big ass Cool S ever present on stage! The most important thing is that it never feels like a kind of meme music. That is to say that while this is a very, very silly time, it never derailed into nonsense or wackiness for wackiness sake. A hype as hell performance that almost never let up.
