Seattle’s intimate Crocodile was the perfect venue for BENEE’s electric Tuesday night set, as the New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter brought her “Particles Tour” to the Pacific Northwest with undeniable charm and precision. Drawing heavily from her celebrated sophomore album Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles, BENEE moved through a set that felt both carefully crafted and spontaneously alive. Fan favorites like “Cinnamon,” “Underwater,” and the brooding “Sad Boiii” landed with force, while deeper album cuts revealed the full emotional range of what critics have called her evolution from viral wunderkind to a genuine world-building artist. The crowd — packed shoulder to shoulder in the best possible way — sang back every word.
What made the night truly special was how effortlessly BENEE commanded the room. Her stage presence balanced vulnerability with confidence, pulling the audience into the self-built universe that Ur an Angel I’m Just Particles promises on record and then some. A euphoric mid-set run through “Animal” had the floor moving, before she brought things back to earth with more tender, introspective moments that showcased her gift for lyricism. Closing on a high note (“Off the Rails” and “Green Honda”), the show served as a reminder that BENEE is not just riding a wave — she’s making one. If the rest of the “Particles Tour” looks anything like Seattle, North American audiences are in for a genuine treat.
