The new sound by Yumi Zouma isn’t all too new. It’s more of an update and upgrade, an evolution that is louder without sacrificing anything that made them special in the past 12 years. The sold out crowd at The Independent was a welcome sight to a band that has been going at it for that long, and this slightly bolder sound with a LaCroix level of country twang definitely helps them distinguish themselves from other acts. Roses covered the stage which were an apropo to the performance: extremely pretty but with a bit of edge to each one.

Ducks LTD opened up the night with an extremely active performance as every musician outside of the drummer danced and moved across the stage near constantly, never truly still.
