Witch Club Satan transformed Cornerstone Berkeley into something closer to a ceremonial gathering than a traditional concert on Saturday night. Before a single note rang out, the trio emerged to perform a sage-burning ritual, addressing the crowd as participants rather than spectators. The act immediately established the evening’s atmosphere, drawing the audience into a space that felt equal parts performance, protest, and spiritual invocation. Their presence commanded attention long before the music reached its crushing intensity.

Musically, Witch Club Satan balanced extremes with remarkable control. Waves of dark, punishing heaviness collided with passages that felt strangely ethereal, creating a sense of tension that never fully released. The band’s ability to shift between ferocity and haunting beauty gave the performance a cinematic quality. Even during its loudest moments, there was a deliberate sense of purpose behind every movement and sound.

The visual presentation proved just as compelling as the music. The group began the evening dressed in flowing white garments that reinforced the ritualistic opening. As the set progressed, they shed those costumes in favor of a far more primal and provocative aesthetic, appearing in a quasi-nude witch-like presentation that heightened the performance’s themes of liberation, vulnerability, and transformation. By the end of the night, Witch Club Satan had delivered more than a concert. They created an immersive ritual that left a lasting impression on everyone inside the room.
