The Revelator brought their power-pop driven indie rock to Bottom of the Hill on Wednesday, June 25.

Bottom of the Hill is home turf for the San Francisco-based band, and the feeling was appropriately comfortable as the group took the stage. Typically, the Revelator is a five-piece outfit comprising Jacob Skaggs (vocals, guitar), Chandler Jones (guitar), Marissa Cornelia (keys, vocals), Zeke Ketcham (bass), and Lucas Siobal (drums). Wednesday night was a special occasion that saw the group swell to a six-piece with the return of founding member Amanda Salguero, who contributed backing vocals and, for one song, posters to queue the audience for shout-choruses.

The energetic 45-minute set covered material from the band’s 2023 debut full-length album, Removing a Heart is More Art Than Science, as well as newer material, like the upcoming single “Sunbeam.”

Catch The Revelator at the 4 Star Theatre on July 10 and screen their new music video on the big screen after the set, with support from Micheal Micheal Motorcycle and Tin Talker.
