This wasn’t the first time I’ve seen Nourished by Time at The Independent, he was the opening act for Vagabon back in 2023. The biggest difference, outside of set length, was his confidence. Back then he had a big table with his equipment and it almost felt like he was hiding behind it. The songs were great and he performed them well but there wasn’t much of a performance there. This time however, there’s a sense of showmanship on display. He’s not going full James Brown on stage but the way he grooved through his new album felt infinitely more natural and charismatic. The sold-out crowd definitely felt it, their expressions matching his throughout.

The singer Zsela opened up the show with her own art-pop gems, her moves, and some hella cool… gloves? Arm bands? Whatever they are, they sure were striking.
