Hot off California tour stops in Sacramento, Bakersfield and the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Noeline Hofmann played the Felton Music Hall May 3.
Noeline Hofmann is a rising Canadian country singer-songwriter from Bow Island, Alberta. Her music, often described as “Wild Rose Country,” blends heartfelt storytelling with the rugged spirit of the Canadian prairies. Having worked as a ranch hand and honky-tonk performer, her songs reflect authentic experiences from rural life.
She’s quickly building a US following, with some fans in Felton having attended multiple shows on the California leg. Supported by Kade Hoffman, this was a wonderful night of original songwriting and soulful performance.
She led off the night with “Lightning in July” off her 2024 EP entitled Purple Gas. From the first song, the crowd was deeply engaged, swaying to the music and singing along. The evening was a mix of original music and select covers, including Johnny Cash’s “Big River” and Luke Bell’s “The Bullfighter”. The highlight of the night was a solo performance of “Purple Gas” that was skillfully introduced to a non-candadian crowd. The not-yet-released song “Sleepless Nights” closed the night, leaving us all clamoring for the next album release and Noeline’s next trip through California.
From the warm confines of Felton Music Hall, Noeline continues east with dates in Boise and Grand Junction, CO, before playing Red Rocks in support of Turnpike Troubadours on May 8.
