It was a special night. Scottish singer Shirley Manson of Garbage held back her tears and told us why it was special for her too. Her father, who recently passed, always said that San Francisco was his favorite city. Shirley told the audience about his special fondness for The Bay as he rented an antique car and drove up the coast to ultimately study in Davis. This set the tone for the night, as she and her band played tracks from their 8 album discography including encores “Stupid Girl” and “Only Happy When It Rains.”

Opening for Garbage was LA band Starcrawler, who played a short, but blazing hot set with Arrow de Wilde at the helm.
