Bay Area native Devon Gabriella returned to San Francisco for a amazing performance at Cafe Du Nord.
Devon Gabriella is a modern pop artist whose songs are rooted in vulnerability, nostalgia, and emotional clarity. Her music draws inspiration from the wit of Kacey Musgraves, the melodic sensibility of Fleetwood Mac, the confessional lyricism of Taylor Swift, and the emotional immediacy of Gracie Abrams.
The young crowd, many of them wearing hand-woven floral crowns, a testament to the deep, personal relationship to Devon’s music, transformed the dimly lit room into something resembling an enchanted meadow. The audience sang along to an acoustic performance stripped of production highlighting Devon’s songwriting talent and creating an intimate vibe that permeated the room. Some audience members had travel as far as Seattle to see Devon perform and they, and the whole audience, were not disappointed.
Tish Melton, another Bay Area native, opened for Devon. Tish Melton is a 20-year old singer-songwriter and student at UC Berkeley. She released her debut EP, When We’re Older, in 2024, which was produced by Brandi Carlile. Melton is known for her introspective, diary-style songwriting that explores teenage relationships and coming-of-age themes.
