Arooj Aftab and her incredibly talented group of musicians created a hazy, dream like atmosphere at the Palace of Fine Arts theater. A healthy mixture of songs from her last two records plus one from Bird Under Water, punctuated at the end with Mohabbat, which has become probably her most popular and recognizable song out of the bunch. Surprisingly funny, she cracked jokes at the expense of losing her wallet while in Los Angeles, as well as pointing out the fact that there was a baby in the crowd and if swearing during the show would be a poor choice. Extremely happy she was able to sell out the entire theater, and here’s hoping she can sell out bigger venues in the future.
