Wardruna came back to the beautiful Paramount Theatre for a mesmerizing set last night.
Led by group founders, Einar Selvik and Lindy-Fay Hella, they played their Nordic traditional instruments including flutes, harps, goat horns, and also notably – two lurs. They played selections from their latest album from January, 2025 Burna, in addition to selections from across their 22 year career. They created a real atmosphere full of emotion – with their musical textures. They created this mood by utilizing swirling lights, projections of Norwegian weather, billowing stage smoke, complex pulsating rhythms, and Einar’s deep baritone voice.

Warming up the crowd was American singer/songwriter Chelsea Wolfe – who played a moody, beautiful set with Ben Chisolm on keyboards.
