The Bay Area is very lucky to be one of the more intimate stops for Montreal jazz/folk/soul musician Dominique Fils-Aimé. Yoshi’s in Oakland is the perfect spot for her dynamic jazz inspired songs and her spiritual themes.
Mark your calendar for September 10th when Dominique’s The Sunshine World Tour will be at Yoshi’s after stops in Austria, Monaco, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Canada (where she just played the Montreal Jazz Festival to an adoring crowd).
The impressive tour builds on the success of her latest album My World Is the Sun, thus confirming her status as a key artist on the international scene. My World Is the Sun is the second part in the trilogy Fils-Aimé began with Our Roots Run Deep (2023) and reflects her commitment to freedom, creativity, and spiritual dimensions through breathtaking vocals and stunning lyricism.
Check out the previous Static & Blur coverage here to see what to expect. Take a peek at our coverage of her stops at SFJAZZ and Blue Note, an interview with our own Mike Lisching, an article about her newly released album My World Is the Sun, and Mike’s coverage of her at last year’s Monterey Jazz Festival.
